The project, which includes Texas Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Texas Enrollment Broker (EB)/Texas Health Steps, and Texas Eligibility Support Services, administers services for the three major Health and Human Services Commission outsourced programs and performs the state’s eligibility support functions for Medicaid, Medicaid Eligibility for the Elderly and People with Disabilities, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Food Stamps, and Women’s Health Programs.
MAXIMUS uses contracted community-based organization agreements to supplement the MAXIMUS staff to broaden our reach into the community for Medicaid families needing assistance in enrollment or referral to medical or dental providers or other community resources. We also sponsor health fairs and enrollment events at which community stakeholder organizations are regular participants. Field-based MAXIMUS staff throughout the state also serve on a variety of local advisory boards and councils with shared interest in the Medicaid and CHIP client populations such as the March of Dimes, CHIP Coalitions, Community Resource Coordination Groups, and Children’s Defense Fund.
